Stephen Kenmir

Professional Qualifications and Background

Stephen is a solicitor and head of the Commercial Department. He graduated with a degree in business studies from Cass Business School and following a Diploma in Law from City University qualified as a solicitor with SJ Berwin in London in 1991.

Having previously worked at firms in London, Cheltenham and Dorking, Stephen has worked in Salisbury since 2007.

Stephen is a member of the Agricultural Law Association and also a member of the Association of Leasehold Enfranchisement Practitioners.

Experience

Stephen specialises in all aspects of commercial property work, including sales and purchases, leases, options and pre-emptions, and mortgages for clients including developers, investors and lenders. He also deals with transactions involving SIPP’s and SSAS’s.

Stephen deals with transactions involving agricultural land acting for farmers and local estates.  He also deals with lease extensions, collective enfranchisement, and right to manage cases on behalf of landlords and tenants.

His work covers the purchase and sales of businesses, including both asset and share transactions, as well as  partnership and shareholder agreements sometimes in conjunction with our Private Client department particularly with regards to farming families.

Cases include:

  • Purchase of redundant farm buildings for a residential development.
  • Transfer of a residential portfolio to a company including refinancing.
  • Purchase of offices and subsequent sale of flats following conversion.
  • Company reorganisation of building company.
  • Enfranchisement of block of 10 flats.
  • Share sale of printing business.
