Professional Qualifications and Background

Emma Lockwood is a Senior Associate Solicitor and Head of Sampson Coward's Wills & Probate team. Emma studied law at Swansea University and completed the Legal Practice Course with the University of West England (Bristol) in 2011. After completing her training contract with a Kent law firm, Emma qualified as a Solicitor in September 2013 and spent the following five years working in a regional firm building up their Private Client team before moving to Salisbury in 2018 to join a local law firm.

Emma joined Sampson Coward in May 2024.

Experience

Emma is experienced in all aspects of Private Client law including the administration of Estates, taxable and non-taxable, drafting Wills (to include Trusts) and Lasting Powers of Attorney. Alongside setting up and managing trusts Emma deals with Court of Protection applications for deputyships where clients lack the capacity to manage their own affairs. Emma works hard to build good relationships with clients to better understand their family situations and so provide advice enabling them to best manage their financial circumstances and future needs.
