Legal Expenses Insurance – Should I Use It?

Most people, nowadays, have either car insurance or house insurance that often includes legal expenses cover, but for a personal injury claim should it be used? Sampson Coward LLP says it is not always in the client’s best interest to use this type of policy.

There are several reasons for this.  You may be allocated a junior solicitor and you may never physically meet them if they are based too far away from you geographically.  Significantly the legal expenses insurers often place restrictions on the solicitor’s ability to litigate freely.

At Sampson Coward we always advise the client in their best interest and often we will advise the client to enter into a Conditional Fee Agreement which means that the solicitor can litigate free of restrictions. It is all about what is best for the client.
